I am glad you have the sand to simply reply that you had not gone. I didn't go a few years ago and felt I had to lie about it to avoid being grilled alive. Now that I am fading I have gone twice, mainly so my father in law can have a ride there, since his hypcritical pioneering wife neglects him even tho he is quite ill in favor of driving some sisters to the hall.....

First missed memorial
by metaspy inthis past weekend (as we all know) was the memorial for jws.. this year marked a huge step for me.. i didn't go.
ever since my mom got baptized, i think i have gone every year.. .
when my mom asked if i went, i simply told her no.. i had gone over my aunt's house and didn't attend the memorial.. she gave me an earful, but i didn't find it intimidating.. .

Did you know I am a SATANIST?
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inseveral months ago, my wife's drunken, wife abusing, bully of a jw uncle offered (we didn't ask...he offered, ok?
) to allow us to use some space on his property to store some things we had in a 10x10x8 storage unit we were paying for.
it sounded good since we are short of cash most of the time and it would only be for about 3-4 months.

i actually am a satanist and take great pride in it.
I was raised a jw and was always taught how evil that Satanists and other so-called occultist are. Did you know I havebeen treated much better by the so-called evil folks than by any jw?

Just out of curiosity, any idea why they though you had "demonized" things in your storage room?
Apparently my FIL's wife told them she "Thought" she heard from someone that we "Might" have seen some R rated movies.....

Tired of the Hypocrisy
Several months ago, my wife's drunken, wife abusing, bully of a jw uncle offered (We didn't ask...HE OFFERED, ok?) To allow us to use some space on his property to store some things we had in a 10x10x8 storage unit we were paying for. It sounded good since we are short of cash most of the time and it would only be for about 3-4 months. Well we thanked him and I told him I would be in touch with him in a week or so. Well, you can guess where this is headed. I made arrangements to close the storage out and rent a truck to bring our things. After all the arrangements were done I went to confirm a day and time we could do it. He said that he was sorry but that someone had told him that we had DEMONIZED things in our storage and if he let us put the stuff in his garage, then the Spirit would be withdrawn from his home. He kept trying to act all apologetic but I told him not to worry about it and dropped it. And him. So, now all the congs in the area know us as those DEMONIZED brothers...LOL If they only knew it was bs! I may be fading, but I am not a satanist...at least not yet!
So I go about my business and don't speak to him or his family (Since he wiped his ass with them and said it was their idea to not let us use the garage for storage.) I think it is hypocritical of him to judge me on hearsay (and my things) while he kicks in his wifes ass, drinks to total and utter oblivion, and leers at every preteen girl who skates by. He is at my father in law's place when I go over and I ignore him. If he says hello I say hello Mr. W. Neither Uncle nor Brother...LOL On Saturday one of his high ended thirty five year old never been kissed pioneer daughters approached me out of fear of seeming unchristian at the memorial and extended her hand to me. Right in front of everyone, my FIL included I held off for a moment...just long enough to make her feel uncomfortable, looked her in her gorgeous brown eyes and flatly asked, "Aren't you afraid you might burst into flames if you shake my hand?"
The silence was deafening in that small circle. I would say the entire place had been booming with laughter and everyone all happy. Like someone mentioned in another thread, not the usual respectful and somber occasion they used to hold. Well, it went dead silent to about a ten foot diameter....Not bad for a snide little aside to a never to be bride?

WARNING: Baptism Guilt Talk coming to a K Hall near you in April.
by Open mind injust a heads up to anyone who might still attend the occasional meeting, there's gonna be a major guilt talk on the service meeting during the week starting april 7, 2008. it's entitled "why put off baptism?
" (kinda weirdly worded title if you ask me.
sounds like it would be a list of good reasons to put it off.

Parents, get them baptized young. Why should you take a chance that they really are of
age to be responsible for their own standing with God when the Big A comes any day now?when the family nags us about our son getting baptized...first time around age 10, teh age 12, and every year since I jus tell tehm that Jesus was perfect, the Son of God, had lived in Heaven before AND was 30 when he was dunked. So many kids get baptized then become adolscents and now have the guilt of a CONTRACT to deal with. And the jw's criticize the Catholics for baptizing babies....

I agree with B the X...Be careful of the manipulation and control tactics. They are experts at it.

Went to the Memorial Last Night
by B_Deserter inthe hall i went to had some guy from bethel who literally sounded like a 12-year-old giving the talk.
all i could think about was v's video about the memorial and how it's nothing but an infomercial for jehovah's witnesses.
i realized why the memorial is "so important" to jehovah's witnesses: it's their biggest recruiting day of the year!

I guess the words "flip" and "flipping" are more acceptable to the JWs.
I remember not even being allowed to say OH MY GOD. How lame they are. I caught a look from the goon squad once when I said, "JUDAS H. On Horseback!"
